

Meet Troy Berg
Troy Berg is an experienced construction professional and entrepreneur recognized for his meticulous attention to detail, hands-on expertise, and unwavering work ethic. His journey in construction began at the tender age of 13, working alongside his father, which laid the foundation for his future career. After graduating from Cloquet High School, Troy pursued higher education at Bemidji State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology with dual emphases in construction technology and manufacturing technology.
Following his college education, Troy moved to the Twin Cities, where he honed his skills working for the union on commercial building projects, managing crews for six years. His return home marked the beginning of a new chapter as he built his own house and started a company with his father until his retirement. In 2012, Troy established Berg Custom Builders, followed by the inception of A Plus Builders in 2018 in collaboration with Josh and Jonathan. These ventures highlight Troy's capability to build and design two thriving construction companies from the ground up.
Troy's professional journey is characterized by his exceptional skills in running construction businesses, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for working with his hands. His accomplishments include obtaining contractor licenses for both companies and successfully leading complex building projects.
Beyond his professional achievements, Troy is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting, particularly goose, duck, big game, fishing, camping, and traveling with his family. His adventures often take him to different countries and national parks, enriching his love for the outdoors. Despite having extreme hearing loss since birth, Troy's determination and love for challenges have driven him to excel in his field.
Troy is also dedicated to giving back to the community through his involvement with the Mule Deer Foundation. His success is bolstered by the unwavering support of his wife, Tracie, and their two sons, Travis and Treston. Together, they form the backbone of Troy's personal and professional life, underscoring the importance of family in his journey.
